Shakin' Katies
The Shakin' Katies evolved as a musical entity until February 2003, when we took
a timeout for Stephanie Mehmen's impending delivery of daughter Ashley Marie.
On Friday, June 13th, 2003, the band members mutually agreed that our reunion wasn't working. We had lost the
magic formula and couldn't get it back.
In the meantime, the Shakin' Katies would like to thank everyone we had the pleasure of playing for, in
particular, the ones who danced. You made us feel so good!
Expatriate band members Julie Bruemmer (vocals), Ron Carson (bass), Frank Karasinksi
(guitar), Tim Helgeson (drums, vocals), and Craig Olson (guitar, vocals) have regrouped to
work on a Shakin' Katies spinoff, Burnin' Sensations. The centrifugal
force necessary for this spinoff comes from veteran lead singer Andy Saxton
(Vivace', Slow Burn). The funky grooves still permeate the music even as classic rock
and other genres are tapped to the round out the repertoire. We're going to Rock On.
