A Brief History of Burnin' Sensations

It's was never easy being in a band whose name sounds like either a side effect or symptomatic of
indiscrete behavior. But that's the cross that the members of Burnin' Sensations have chosen to
bear. Besides the seemingly unfortunate choice of a band name, who are the Burnin' Sensations? What
brought them together? What made them spontaneously combustible?
Burnin' Sensations trace arose from the ashes of a band called
Shakin' Katies, which shared a
proclivity for apostrophes. Andy Saxton, a veteran of Vivace and Slow Burn, joined the ex-Katies
in late Summer 2003 to form the first incarnation of the Burnin' Sensations band. And it was good.
We began gigging in February 2004. In October 2005, Andy
became the sole caregiver of his three children and Courtney Hall
joined to reignite the band. Her powerhouse vocals, personality and multi-instrumental
talent was a real boost to the flickering sensations. After Julie
departed in November 2005, Raj Lartius became the Newest Sensation.
Raj, stage name: Mere-Raj, brings his engaging, energetic personality to the band.
He adds much to the soul of the band and contributes heavily to the weird humour.
Please join us in welcoming the New Sensations.
